Australia – the place hosting earth’s most weirdest, dangerous yet beautiful of the creatures and it’s home to some of the most amazing cultural sites on Earth.
We now introduce you to this unknown little town called Coober Pedy which has a population of about 1,600 people, but you would be surpised if you were passing by this town cz you won’t see even a single human being. And that’s because everyone in the town lives underground. Yes, UNDERGROUND!
Coober Pedy is home to a rich mining industry, since precious stones like opals can be found in the area.
People can’t live at surface level in Coober Pedy because, well its Australia and second, temperatures are way too high.
These are probably the only way other people found out that a civilization lies below.
And most of its residents stay there forever because it’s in the middle of the desert.
Hey, but they have restaurants!!!
And books to connect them to the outside world.
They also surprisingly have a great art museum, dog daycares, and various opal mines, which you can tour.
Coober Pedy is an awesome place to set up camp but am sure underground is for tourist only.
If google underground application is ever created, I can totally guess where the google cameras would start first. Australia, the whole world loves you!!
